Built at the turn of the 20th century for a department store, the Rand Building was converted to an office building in 1983; Metro was hired in 2015 to perform a much-needed renovation and updating. Our work spanned 8½ months and included scaffolding the entire 8-story exterior, cleaning and re-pointing all of the brick mortar, repairing the original wood windows as required and rebuilding the failing covering over the surrounding street-level sidewalks. Interior work included the demolition and installation of all new MEP systems, and the complete finish-out of two floors comprising 25,000 square feet.
