Pearl Stable

The historic Pearl Stable was completed in 1894 and housed the Pearl Brewery delivery horses. A creative and meticulous renovation created a stunning, high-tech conference center. Visitors to Pearl Stable enter through a striking Pre-Function area that features two beautiful, hand-crafted bars, custom designed lighting utilizing hundreds of old bottles and newly installed, handmade Mexican concrete tile replicating a popular regional tile available when the Stables were first built. Windows which had been bricked-in were reopened and window frames were carefully constructed to replicate the original frames. The main assembly room can accommodate a 600-person seated dinner. Work included the construction of a new professional stage and an added mezzanine. The craftsmanship of the original wooden, roof sub-structure was left visible by building a 2nd roof deck above creating an “envelope” for infrastructure. Along with sophisticated A/V systems, theatrical lighting and state-of-the-art MEP systems, two massive, 1,600 lb, custom-designed chandeliers were added. METRO’s work was recognized with the Associated Builders and Contractors Eagle Award, the highest national honor given.
